Marla Veres

Marla Veres, from Montreal, studied at Bar Ilan University, graduated from McGill University with a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, and an M.Sc. in Computer Science.  For 15 years, Marla operated a software consulting firm focusing on small business computer IT requirements and the design and development of customized applications.  She then began a 25 year stint as a Computer Science Professor at UQAM, Concordia and Thomas Edison University, specializing in database design and software development.

Marla has been involved in several community and philanthropic organizations, including board positions at Maison Shalom, Emunah Women, Association of Jewish Day Schools, Kollel Torah MiTzion and Hebrew Academy of Montreal, where she was President of the Board of Directors.

Marla divides her time between Montreal and Ra’anana, Israel. Marla’s commitment to Technion has been enhanced by her daughter’s graduation from Technion Medical School.  Her daughter is currently doing a Family Medicine Residency in Israel.
