Latest Developments in Artificial Intelligence and its Application: Connecting Technology and Society

A conference held by the Technion will focus on the future of Artificial Intelligence and will present current state-of-the-art applications whilst dispelling AI myths

On February 24, the conference ” AI: From Hype to Productivity” will be held at the Elma Hotel in Zichron Yaacov. This is an annual conference led by the Technion which will explore the practical application of Artificial Intelligence – how to bring the rapid development of this field towards a practical application that will impact society?

The conference is led by three Technion bodies: MLIS – The Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems Research Center, TCE – the Technion Computer Engineering Center and TDSI – the Technion Data Science Initiative. The conference, sponsored by Nvidia and Harel Information Technologies will feature lectures which are layman-friendly, to encourage the joint participation of academic, industrial and government sector bodies.

The conference will begin at 09:00 with opening remarks by Technion President Professor Uri Sivan and Professor Assaf Schuster, who heads MLIS together with Professor Shie Mannor. Afterwards, there will be lectures by ten other researchers from the Technion, all world leaders in their fields. In addition, thematic workshops will be held, and posters by Technion students will be on display together with commercial demonstrations, all connected in some way to the theme of the conference: “Marketing buzz or advanced capabilities: where is AI research today and how can it be integrated into society?”

AI speed dating sessions will also be held – to provide industry personnel the opportunity to meet with leading AI researchers from the Technion.

The conference will be held in Hebrew at the Elma Arts Center in Zichron Yaacov, February 24, from 8:30am to 5:20pm.
