New Technion President Shares His Vision

On Sept. 26, 2019 Professor Uri Sivan was inaugurated as the 17th president of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Sivan takes over from outgoing President Professor Peretz Lavie, who completed his term after a decade in office.

“The Technion today is stronger than ever, and we must leverage this to implement far-reaching reforms in our research structure, curricula, teaching methodologies, and collaboration with industry,” stated Sivan. “ Our success will be measured by our ability to create the necessary synergy to meet the challenges facing humanity.”

Professor Sivan hails from the Faculty of Physics, and he has held numerous senior positions at Technion and on a national level.
