During the week of May 4, Technion President Prof. Uri Sivan and Vice President Prof. Lihi Zelnik Manor made a significant visit to Toronto, engaging with key academic institutions and members of the local philanthropic community.
The Technion delegation held important meetings with senior leadership at York University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Waterloo. These conversations focused on opportunities to strengthen academic collaboration, explore new research partnerships, and expand student and faculty exchanges between Technion and top Canadian universities.
While in Toronto, President Sivan and VP Zelnik Manor were warmly welcomed by some of our most dedicated supporters. Special thanks go to the Feldberg family, Naomi Azrieli, Harry Lebovic, Lori Shapiro of the Schwartz/Reisman Foundation, and Andrew Goldenberg, who each played an important role in hosting and facilitating introductions. In addition, Gary and Linda Goldberg generously opened their home for an intimate gathering that included members of our community interested in the Technion’s mission and impact.
The visit offered Technion leadership a deeper understanding of the Toronto community’s strong connection to Israel and the Technion. They left with a renewed appreciation for the warm hospitality and commitment of our Canadian friends.
We thank everyone who helped make this visit a success and look forward to the continued growth of Technion-Canada partnerships in both academia and philanthropy.
