Technion’s Head of Construction and Maintenance Joins Surfside Rescue Efforts

As we, and the world, look on with sadness and trepidation in the wake of the Champlain Towers South condominium collapse in Surfside, Florida, Israel has sprung into action to help those in need. And, as is often the case, where Israel goes, so does the Technion. The Israel Defense Forces quickly mobilized an aid mission to help with rescue and recovery efforts in, and one of the Technion’s own is part of the team of experts. As director of the Technion’s Construction and Maintenance Division, Lt. Col. (res.) Amnon Leibovitch oversees all new construction projects on the Technion campus. His extensive expertise about how buildings are put together could prove to be invaluable as authorities in Florida race to recover survivors or victims from the rubble of the building.
